Never cook with wine you wouldn’t drink. Cooking wines have
added sodium and lack the flavor of a good wine.
It is not recommended that red wine be saved more than a day
or so, but I recork mine and leave the bottles on my counter for up to two
weeks. I haven’t noticed any flavor issues.
Keep white wine in refrigerator. It lasts quite a while.
Always smell or taste your wine before you reuse it.

The Amazing Avocado
Did you know the avocado is a fruit?
There are over 500 varieties of the
power-packed avocado. This links you to the many varieties:

However, if you take blood thinning medications (such as
Coumadin) be aware that avocados, dark green vegetable, and greens contain
Vitamin K. It is important that you eat the same amount of these foods the same
days each week; otherwise your INR blood tests may be not be accurate.

San Marzano Canned Tomatoes
San Marzano tomatoes are considered by many chefs to be the
best plum tomatoes in the world. I like the tangy sweetness of them and how
much richness they add to my recipes. They can be purchased at Whole Foods,
Fresh Market, Richard's, and most organic food stores
